Collective Beauty Haul

Hi everyone!

This is my collective haul with a bunch of different products from separate stores.

Makeup:

Chi Chi Products!

Myer had 25% off on the weekend so I purchased Chi Chi glamorous eyeshadow palettes from Myer in Naturals and Nudes.
The Nudes pallet is a pretty good dupe for the Naked palettes.
Unfortunately both Tash and I don't own the Naked palette, but the-beautifool has some great swatch comparisons.

     Top-bottom: Naturals, Nudes

I also purchased the ChiChi BB cream as there has been a pretty big hype around this product in the beauty community.
Tash and I will be posting out first impressions of this product soon.
Below is a quick swatch in the shade Light.

One of my most exciting purchases is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused light.
I saw Jaclyn Hill use this in one of her videos and it highlighted and blended her face makeup beautifully.
I chose this one over Ambient lights as it has more yellow undertones.
You can purchase this powder from Mecca Cosmetics for $62.00 here.

Priceline Purchases:

Priceline had Maybelline mascaras for $10.00 so i picked up The Colossal Volume Express Mascara and Australis Matte Me Lipstick Mattifying Base which you can purchase for $12.95 here.

Skincare:

I've really been trying to get my skin in tip top condition lately.
I picked up the Garnier Molecular Cleansing Water from Chemist Warehouse for $9.99 here, this is the cheapest I have seen it.
So far this has been great for removing my makeup before using my Clarisonic.
This isn't as fast as using a makeup wipe but it removes my eye makeup better and that is what I use it for.

I purchased the In-Shower Body lotion from Nivea because it was on sale at Kmart for $5.00.
I am super lazy and as much as i want soft skin I barely ever moisturise after I get out of the shower, so this is perfect for me!

I've been on the hunt for a good moisturiser for the dry flaky bits on my skin.
Although my skin has some dry flakes, it still produces a lot of oil which is difficult to work with.
I've found that this one really helps when my skin is really flaky but as it starts to get back to normal this moisturiser makes my skin produce to much oil.
This product is perfect for mature women or drier skin types.

My favourite item is my Clarisonic Mia 2, which was actually a gift :)

As I was saying above, I have been having problems with flakiness, texture and blackheads lately.
I have seen so many Youtube videos and blog post about how great this product is and how much it can help with my skin issues.
I will post an in depth review once I get to try this out more.

Thanks so much for reading!

July 2014 Bella Box Review

Hi everyone!

This is my review on the July 2014 Bella Box.
This months theme is American Beauty.

Bella box is one of the many beauty subscription boxes available!
This is my first time receiving the Bella Box.
If you don't know how Bella Box works, you subscribe on their website and pay $15 a month or an annual fee of $165.00 for 12 months and receive 5+ beauty and lifestyle products to test which you can purchase on their website store.

In the box you receive a card which gives you information on the products in your box and how much they are worth.

In this months box I received:

Designer brands Lip butter in coconut - RRP $4.99

This lip butter has a thin oily consistency, it smells sweet but  doesn't have a strong coconut smell.
This lip butter wouldn't be my first choice for conditioning my lips as I feel like the product just sits on top of the lips, but ill give it a couple more tries before I give it away.
Designer brands is an Australian brand which I feel contradicts the 'American Beauty' theme and I don't really understand how it was supposed to tie into the theme.

Nicole by OPI Nail Lacquier - RRP $12.95

I received the colour 'Goodbye Shoes' from the Carrie Underwood collection.
This is a medium grey with blue-green undertones.
I love the colour and consistency of this nail polish.
Tash is more of the nail pro so I let her do some swatches on her beautiful long nails, as seen above.
Keep an eye out for her review here soon :)
You can purchase Nicole by OPI nail polishes from Target or Woolworths here in Australia.
This product is from North Hollywood which fits more into the American Beauty theme.

Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat 5.3g - RRP Full size is $39.00

Another American product, that makes 2.
Anastasia is famous for her brow products and I'm obsessed with her brow pomades, so I am excited to try this product out.
This top coat is supposed to make any mascara waterproof.
I feel like this will come in handy on hot summer days, which is when I will probably use it more.
I am very excited about this product!

Designer Brands Paw Paw Plus Hand Cream 30g - RRP $4.99

Another Designer Brands product, still don't understand how this fits into their theme.
I do like this hand cream though, I'm on the hunt for anything that will sooth my hands in the winter as I get really bad eczema on my fingers, gross I know!
This product has that traditional hand cream smell, nothing special but not unpleasant.
I like Lucas' paw paw ointment for my cuticles and lips but find it can be a bit greasy on my fingers and takes a while to soak in.
This hand cream is a thin consistency, (as seen in the swatch above, excuse the left over patches from other swatches haha) which absorbs fast and still has the great moisturising properties as the Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment without the greasiness.
You can purchase Designer Brands products from many pharmacies across Australia.

Chapstick Ultimate Lipkits- 3PK RRP $8.99

When I first saw this Chapstick container I was a little bit bummed as I already saw the other lip butter and I didn't understand why there needed to be more lip balm in this box.
For some reason it didn't click in my head that Chapstick meant the actual brand, then I opened up the case and there was 3 full sized Chapstick brand lip balms in there.
I know how much these cost each and I just recently finished one.
In this case I received the Classic lip Balm with SPF 15, Green Apple and Strawberry.
These are some of the most moisturising lip balms and their scent/flavours are great.

Bonus Product - Mary Kay Botanical Effects Mask 3g - RRP for full size is $37.00
I always like free bonus stuff, although I'm not really a fan of these sachet things as they can be messy and you can only use them once as the product will dry up.
This is an american brand which makes only 3 products that fit into the theme if you can even count this 3g sachet as 1 product.
I'm not  fan of masks as most of them make me break out and it takes me forever to get those blemishes to go away,  but that's just my skin personally.
I may just give this one to Tash or my Mum.

Overall I think that Bella Box did a pretty good job this month.
I like 4 out of the 6 products in the box even if they don't relate to the theme.
I'm hoping that next month has some more makeup items as they are my favourite.
You can subscribe to Bella Box here.

Small Beauty and Makeup Storage Haul

Hi everyone!

These are a couple of items that I have purchased over the past couple of weeks that I'm currently trying out.
I have been trying not to buy so much makeup and save my money as Tash and I are going to IMATS in Sydney in September :)

Mabeylline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Light
I have used this concealer a couple of times during the day and so far so good.
I originally thought the colour was going to be to pink for me, but it blends in pretty well with my foundation. (Revlon ColorStay in Buff).
This concealer has a domed sponge applicator on the top which makes application easy for under the eye.
It is medium to full coverage, covers my dark under eye circles and highlights perfectly.
I purchased mine from Kmart for a ridiculous price of $18.00, but you can also purchase this from other stores.
Chemistwarehouse has it for the best price right now - $15.99

Elf High Definition Undereye Setting Powder
I am loving the range of ELF products they have released in Kmart recently.
I have only tried this product on once at night and I am yet to wear it during the day.
This comes with a small brush to apply the product with (which I haven't included in the picture above) I don't use that brush, I like to use my Sigma Tapered Highlighter - F35 brush.
This powder is a sheer pale lose powder with a  pink undertone and what looks like little shimmer flecks.

I tried this out under my eyes and took some photos with flash and the shimmer isn't obviously noticeable.

Sigma Beauty Premium Professional Kit and Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush
This is my most favourite purchase from the past couple of weeks.
I purchased this kit and the single brush from one of the Australian registered stores that Sigma lists on their website- MYQTY.
They were around the same price as on the Sigma website but with faster shipping.
I will do a more in depth review on these brushes soon once I try them out a bit more.
So far I LOVE these brushes, they're so soft and the eye brushes blend my eye shadow seamlessly!

White Skull Head Brush Holders
This isn't a beauty item, but it is a new piece for my makeup collection storage.
I keep my Sigma brushes in these two that I purchased from The Reject Shop for $10.00 each.
Some of my other brushes are in two black velvet skull heads on the other side of my makeup table, I purchased them from Typo.
I don't think Typo has the black velvet ones in stock any more, but they are constantly changing the styles of their skull holders in store and online.

That is it for my haul!
If you have any questions or want a more in depth review on any of the products i have mentioned, feel free to leave a comment bellow.

Monthly Favourites: Lana's Favourites for June 2014

Hi everyone!

These are the products I have been reaching for most this past June.

Beauty:

MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil
I have been loving this lipliner ever since I purchased it in December last year, but just recently I've been wearing it under every dark lipstick I own!
Wearing this liner with my other lipsticks like MAC Diva or MAC Lorde Pure Heroine ads that blackened opaque darkness when I'm looking to go a little bit more on the darker side.
I love the staying power that this liner adds, once my lipstick has faded I don't have to worry because Nightmoth is underneath still giving my lips a nice vampy colour.
You can purchase Nightmoth for $30.00 AU here.

NYX Blush in Taupe
I've been eyeing off this blush for years! My friend used it and once i tried her's i had to have my own, i don't know why I waited so long to purchase it.
This blush is exactly what is describes; a lovely taupe colour.
You don't get that orangey colour that you can get with other bronzers, this works perfectly for that shadowy colour you want for a contour.
I purchased mine from ebay for $12.00 AU

MAC Prep + Prime Lip
OMG! I LOVE this product!
This product has changed my lip application forever!
Not only does it help moisturise my lips and add staying power but it cuts out the chance of ever having those dry bits on your lips catching the product.
I wear this every time i apply any lipstick, whether its a nude or something dark like MAC Cyber.
You can purchase MAC Prep + Prime for $33.00 AU here.

Lime Crime Valvetine in Salem
This has been my go to dark lip colour this month.
Salem in a dark brown/burgendy, matt lip cream.
I love the formula of these Valvetines, its goes on as a cream and dries matt.
I find it extremely easy to apply considering Salem is such a dark colour.
You can purchase Lime Crime Valvetines for the cheapest I've seen, $24.00 AU.
Here is a list of some places you can purchase them, I got mine from Princess Polly.

Skincare:

Johnsons daily essentials  facial cleansing wipes
Now these guys have been around for ages!
I used to use the cheap ones from Kmart that are like 1 or 2 dollars, but after receiving some free samples I fell back in love with these.
It only takes 1 wipe to take off my whole face of makeup and it removes everything, even my tough waterproof mascara.
I will never go back to the old dry ones, even though these are a bit more pricey (RRP $6.99 AU) I think its worth it!
You can get them cheaper here at chemistwarehouse.com.au

Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream
Now I know it seems weird that I have a baby moisturising cream in my favourites, but this stuff has done wonders for my eczema this winter!
I keep this one in my draw at work and I apply it whenever my hands get dry from the cold and after every hand wash.
My hands dry out very easily and can get very irritated, causing my eczema.
This stuff helps sooth my eczema and also prevent my hands from dying so I don't get many break outs.
It absorbs fast which makes it convenient to use regularly.
This retails for $10.99 AU at my local priceline

So that is my June favourites!
If you have any questions feel free to comment below.

MAC x Lorde Pure Heroine Lipstick Review + Swatches

Pure Heroine a limited edition Amplified finish lipstick from MAC and is part of the two-piece MAC x Lorde collection that was released here in Australia at the start of July. I received an email in June from MAC for special offer to buy this collection before its official release date. I definitely recommend signing up if you like to get reminded of new collections and special offers.

I only purchased the lipstick as I didn't really feel the need to have the liner. I already own plenty of liquid liners that work fine for me.

But I'm obsessed with any dark lipstick and Lorde so I had to purchase Pure Heroine!

Pure Heroine retails for $36.00 here in Australia.

The Amplified formula makes it go on smooth and glossy.
I personally rather dark lipsticks to have a matt finish just because the staying power is longer, but this lipstick lasts at least 4 hours of you're not constantly eating and drinking.

It appears as a dark  plum in the tube but comes off lighter and more sheer when applied to the lips.

The colour has warmer violet pinky-plum undertones of MAC lipstick Heroine with more depth of Cyber or Punk Couture.

MAC x Lorde Pure Heroine applied alone with only with MAC Prep + Prime Lip

Left to right: MAC Nightmoth lip liner and Pure heroine, MAC Rebel, MAC Pure Heroine, MAC Cyber

I was a little bit disappointed when first putting this lipstick on, just because I was expecting such a darker, blackened more opaque colour.

As you can see from the swatches, Pure Heroine is warmer and more of a violet colour than Cyber but not as warm as Rebel, which has a more wine colour to it.
When pairing this lipstick with MAC Nightmoth lip liner it gives the colour a deeper tone, similar to cyber.
